About

Harald Hummerston is a writer and filmmaker based in Eora/Sydney. He completed a Master of Arts (Screen) in Screenwriting at the Australian Film Television Radio School, as well as degrees in Media Arts and Production and International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney. He now writes for screen, audio, and online, across a range of styles and genres with a particular emphasis on comedy, black comedy, absurdist black comedy, and other variations of the same thing.

Harald also works as an on-set script supervisor, and has worked across short and feature-length films, both scripted and documentary, including The Big Dog (Sydney Film Festival 2023) and Pasifika Drift (SXSW Sydney 2023).

In addition, he co-hosts, produces, and edits the podcast Poster Boys, which is very possibly the world’s premier Robert Pattinson-themed movie podcast, although he has done no research to back that claim and does not plan to.

Outside of film and media, Harald has over five years of experience in performance arts education and live theatre. He has taught classes in filmmaking, acting, and theatre production to students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and has stage managed and assistant stage managed numerous events, including theatrical, orchestral, and dance performances.
